Getting Back At It:
My Goals Going Into The End Of 2026 And Updates
About 8 months ago I published a blogpost covering my goals of 2025, how they went, and my goals going into 2026. I thought I would take some time to see how well those goals I set are going now. I would also like to take this time to see how these goals have changed over the past few months since they were set.
The main goal I listed in December of 2025 was that I wanted to send a V9. This is still a goal that has not been completed but to me feels like it can totally be possible. At the current moment I can send V6 pretty frequently. I will occasionally send a V7, and I have not sent a V8 in probably a year. However, there are still 3 months left of this year and I can still make these goals happen. I might change the goals to be a V8, but I will also shoot for V9. I am very happy with where I am currently at in my climbing journey. I am excited for the season to pick up, and surprisingly, due to the amount of hatred I gave competition climbing the last time I wrote about goals, I am excited for the coming competition season.
Another big goal of mine was to send 5.12c. I wrote this goal in my journal but did not post about it in my 2025 blogpost. In 2026 I have sent 3 5.12s so far. Two of which have been flashes. The 5.12 I flashed most recently is the hardest grade I have climbed being a 5.12b. I am very proud of this achievement and hope to send even more before the season comes to a close.
A goal I would like to add on going into the back half of 2026 is to become a manager. Through talks with my boss it seems like that is a very reasonable possibility fairly soon! I have been working at Sportrock for 2 years and 4 months now and I have grown to love that job so much that I hope to one day be a director of one of the gyms. But it is a journey that must start somewhere, so I will begin by making that leap to being a Manager.
Another goal that I had listed was to write 15 blogs. I’m not exactly sure how that is going. If you include poems, and this current blog post, I am now up to 14. Which I find truly incredible and I am very happy to have been able to share all of these with you all. Although some days I do not feel the greatest, and there are some obstacles that come in the way of me treating everybody the way they deserve, I am still extremely happy with how 2026 is going so far. I am very excited to see what these last few months will bring. If you have any ideas for what I should write about in the future, let me know. I would love to hear even more from my audience.
